That's been the operating premise since 2022. We're a senior-heavy team — not a body-shop, not a generic agency — that stays accountable to outcomes.
WMAD stands for Web, Mobile, Application Development — the exact scope the practice was built around when it was founded in 2022 in Bengaluru. That scope hasn’t really changed since. What has is the ‘A’: application development today means AI-native application development, and that shift is what the rest of this page is about.
We work as the engineering team behind startups finding their footing and enterprises modernising their systems — companies that need a partner able to keep up, not a vendor requiring management.
Since then, the practice has extended from client delivery into venture-building — including MintCarb, currently incorporating, which takes on the engineering of a genuinely hard, regulated problem as our own, not a client’s.
We stay a senior-heavy team by design. Depth in a handful of disciplines, applied directly, without a management layer between the person who understands the problem and the person solving it.
Mission
To be the engineering partner that growing companies actually trust — building secure, scalable digital systems that make work faster, smarter and more resilient.
How we work
Grounded recommendations over confident guesses. A build-vs-buy-vs-wait answer before a build starts. Compliance and audit-readiness designed in, not retrofitted. And a plain answer when something isn’t a fit.

Founder, WMAD Pvt. Ltd.
Builder, advisor, and operator across two decades
Connect on LinkedInVijay's path into technology started somewhere unexpected: hands-on creative work in the early 2000s, across a range of industries, building a depth of craft that most engineering-first founders never pick up. It was as much about teaching as building — he spent those years bringing newer talent along, a habit that still shows in how he explains a hard call today.
About a decade in, the role changed from doing the work to owning the outcome — running delivery, then running a business outright. What followed was years spent shipping design, digital and technology work across a wide range of organisations, which is exactly where WMAD's own range of disciplines comes from: not theory, but having actually delivered them.
That experience became WMAD in 2022 — a considered bet that a team led by someone who has built things with his own hands would outperform one that only manages other people's work.
Vijay still carries that instinct into everything he does. Alongside WMAD, he holds leadership and advisory roles across a handful of other ventures — spanning marketing, business strategy and consumer goods — each one another place to apply the same judgment for what actually works.
The range isn't the point, though. What runs underneath all of it is a consistent focus on other people's progress: helping founders sharpen a plan, helping teams execute faster, helping businesses grow with more confidence than they'd manage alone. That's the lens WMAD is led through.
